Developed by Echosens, FibroScan® uses its patented technology Vibration Controlled Transient Elastography (VCTETM ) at 50Hz to diagnose and monitor liver diseases.
FibroScan® allows to explore a volume at least 100 times larger than a liver biopsy in a rapid, safe, repeatable, and non-operator-dependent way. It quantifies liver stiffness (E) in kPa and ultrasound attenuation (CAPTM) in dB/m, which are effective markers of the quality of the hepatic parenchyma correlated to fibrosis and steatosis, respectively.
FibroScan® is clinically validated by more than 360 peer-reviewed publications. It improves liver disease management, increases the patient’s comfort and safety and helps physicians to reduce the number of liver biopsies.
